RecondOil Oil Recovery centre - turning waste into profit
Discover a turnkey process plant for regeneration of “slop oil” into commercially valuable products.
Slop oil can come from a variety of sources with different qualities and compositions. These waste oils can be recycled and turned into commercially valuable products. Depending on its original composition, slop oil can be turned into:
- Oil for re-refining processes where new base oil is created
- Oil for energy production
- Oil for crude refining processes
The delivery includes:

A turnkey process plant in a modular design, with capacity from 10 000 ton/year and upward.
- Expandable through addition of new process modules
- Can be designed to treat both slop oil and industrial cutting liquids
- Fully automated and easy to operate
- Available in EC or American standard.

What is slop oil?
Slop(s) are defined in the dictionary as "liquid refuse" or "spilt liquid". Slop oil treatment is one of the most technically demanding processes for separation technology. Originating from many sources, slop oils vary widely in composition and physical properties. One common factor is that they contain both water and solid impurities, coarse as well as fine. In addition, the oil and water frequently form a very tight emulsion, often stabilized by fine particle contamination. Waxes are normally also present, which usually dictates the necessity to process at high temperatures (+70 C). This variability of the feedstock is one of the key problems when trying to reliably achieve an effective and efficient separation of the solid, aqueous and oil phases.
Slop oils are of no value without special processing and are expensive in terms of storage and disposal. They can be very environmentally unfriendly, especially if stored in a pond that is open to the atmosphere.
Solving a global environmental problem
Low quality residues (slop oils) are a global environmental problem found wherever oil is being drilled, refined, transported or stored. It is a generally agreed on fact that these residue products cannot be refined directly without first undergoing some sort of processing. This is because one or more of the technical / chemical parameters possessed by these oils are often well beyond the maximum limits specified and allowable for raw products to be refined.
With DST processing, we make a sustainable regeneration of slop oil into commercially valuable products possible. Contact us today to find out more about how you can unlock the values that waste can represents.

Fred Sundström
Founder RecondOil
Our plant design allows for changes in the feedstock composition while assuring the highest quality and quantity of recovered oil. The primary objective of the plant is to recover oil that can either be directly marketed as a valuable product or sold to a refinery for further processing. The second objective is to solve an environmental problem by processing, recovering and reusing the contents of a slop oil pond.
