It's by now well established that oil regeneration with Double Separation Technology (DST) has a range of beneficial effects, ranging from significant oil life extension, to improved performance and productivity, and to reduced oil related costs. Nevertheless, we are constantly adding to the list of benefits provided by this fairly new technology, and investigating additional areas of use for DST-regenerated oil.
One such investigation has just been concluded by SKF's European product testing team in Judenburg (Austria). They performed what is known as “accelerated lifetime tests for hydraulic systems” to evaluate the performance of SKF RecondOil’s DST process.
These tests showed the positive effects on the friction performance of seals when hydraulic oil was regenerated with DST. The tests highlighted a clear correlation with reduction in friction by using DST-regenerated oil, which in turn will reduce machine wear, reduce potential for cross-contamination and extend the life of the oil in service.
The Judenburg team put together a report, now released as a white paper, where the full results are found. Interested in finding out more? Click the button below to read the white paper.
